Are you thinking about monetizing your TikTok videos and want to learn more about the TikTok Creativity Program? You’re in the right place! To address widespread concerns about low payments from the original Creator Fund, TikTok introduced the Creativity Program—a new monetization model that rewards creators for producing high-quality, longer-form videos (videos must be at least one minute long).
In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about the TikTok Creativity Program—from eligibility requirements to how to join, plus other ways you can earn money from your TikTok audience. Let’s dive in!
What Is the TikTok Creativity Program Beta?
Launched in February 2023, the TikTok Creativity Program Beta was created in response to negative feedback about the Creator Fund. Many creators reported extremely low earnings—sometimes as little as $20–$30 per million views. In response, TikTok began phasing out the Creator Fund in the U.S., U.K., France, and Germany by the end of 2023 and replaced it with the Creativity Program.
Those already in the Creator Fund were given the opportunity to switch to the new program. According to TikTok, creators in the Creativity Program may earn up to 20 times more than they did in the Creator Fund.
The Creativity Program aims to offer a more rewarding system for creators producing high-quality, original content—especially longer videos.
Eligibility Requirements for the TikTok Creativity Program
To join the Creativity Program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a minimum of 10,000 followers
- Achieve 100,000 video views in the past 30 days
- Post high-quality videos that are at least 1 minute long
The requirement for long-form content is the main difference from the Creator Fund, which accepted shorter videos. This signals TikTok’s shift toward promoting more in-depth, engaging content.
What Was the TikTok Creativity Program Beta?
The Beta version of the Creativity Program was an invite-only trial, launched in early 2023. To be eligible for the beta test, creators needed to:

- Have received at least 100,000 valid video views in the last 30 days
- Produce high-quality videos longer than 1 minute
The success of this test led TikTok to expand the program more widely.
