It was crunch time for Abbey Russano last June, with her high school finals fast approaching and the start of intensive training for the upcoming fall tennis season. However, her passion for volunteering took precedence, so she spent nearly 30 hours over three days at the Special Olympics Summer Games in Trenton, NJ. They have fun and make me laugh every practice. The Special Olympics are a year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual diverse disabilities. This campaign reflects the drivers of The Ready Commitment to build a more inclusive and sustainable tomorrow for all. On the tennis court, Abbey is the top player for her high school team which finished in third in the state, and she was ranked 45 among the top recruits in the U.

Teenagers who would like to volunteer and earn community service hours at The Most Magical Place on Earth have several opportunities coming up. Disney volunteers, also known as Sports Enthusiasts and Volunteer Ambassadors, can work at events held at the facility or at runDisney races held on Disney World property. In general, they must be at least 14 to volunteer and those younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
